Mobile app development · iOS and Android

Apps your team and customers open every day.

Kodem builds mobile apps for iOS and Android from one shared codebase, connected to the same back end as your website and business systems. We start by checking whether you need an app at all, because for many companies a fast mobile site or an installable web app does the job at lower cost.

  • One codebase for both platforms
  • Offline work where the job needs it
  • Store accounts opened in your name

The first decision

App or mobile site? Usually the users decide.

An app earns its place when people open it daily, when it must work without a signal, or when the camera, barcode scanner, location or push notifications are part of the job. A showroom that customers visit once a month is better served by a fast, mobile-friendly site.

Between the two sits the progressive web app: a web application that installs to the home screen, can work offline and can send notifications, without going through an app store. We have delivered business software this way, and it is often the quicker route for internal tools.

In shortIf two or more of the signs on the right apply, an app is worth discussing. If none do, we will suggest a mobile site or a web app instead.
  • Work continues offline, in a warehouse, on site or on the road
  • Camera, barcode, GPS or NFC are part of the task
  • Notifications drive the daily operation
  • Users open it every day, not occasionally

What we build

Six kinds of app we are asked for most.

Field and service apps

Work orders, photo reports, signatures and location for technicians and sales teams, synced to the office.

Dealer ordering apps

Dealers order at their own prices and see their account and delivery status: a dealer portal in the pocket.

Customer and loyalty apps

Order tracking, bookings, points and offers, giving a store or service business a channel for repeat sales.

Booking and member apps

Appointments, reminders, documents and schedules for clinics, gyms and training centres, collecting only the data needed.

Internal operations apps

Stock counts, quality checklists, shifts and leave requests entered on a device instead of paper.

Progressive web apps

Installable from the browser, usable offline, able to send notifications, with no store review needed.

How we build

One back end, several front doors.

The app is one more interface on top of the same data your website and back office use.

One codebase, two platforms

React Native or Flutter for iOS and Android together; platform-specific modules only where the hardware demands it.

A shared API

The app, the website and the admin screens read and write through one REST or GraphQL API, so figures match everywhere.

Offline data and sync

Records are saved on the device and synchronised when the connection returns, with conflicts handled by clear rules.

English and Arabic

Screens in both languages, with the Arabic layout running right to left and text that reads naturally in each.

Process

From screen map to the app stores.

  1. DiscoveryA video call to decide between app and web app, then a map of screens, user roles and the systems the app must talk to.
  2. Scope and quoteA written scope and an itemised quote in USD, with milestones agreed in the contract.
  3. Build and device testingEach milestone produces a test build you install on your own phones and approve before the next stage.
  4. Store release and upkeepWe handle store submission and review feedback, then monitor, update and maintain the app.

Related work

Business software that works offline.

Anonymised. This system was delivered as an installable web app that keeps working without a connection.

From a paper ledger to role-based, auditable business software

Customer accounts, warehouse in and out movements, a cheque portfolio, commissions and the journal in one system, with in-cell editing so the team keeps its spreadsheet habits.

  • 3 user roles with server-side permission checks
  • Field-level change history: who changed what, and when
  • An installable app that can work offline

Is an app right for you?

When we recommend one, and when we do not.

An app makes sense if

  • Your field or warehouse staff work where the signal drops
  • Dealers or customers would use it at least weekly
  • Your website or ERP can share its data through an API, or we build that layer

Probably not, if

  • Customers would open it once or twice and forget it
  • The content is mostly information that a website already covers
  • There is no plan for who keeps the app's content and offers current

In those cases a fast mobile site or a progressive web app usually serves you better.

Questions

Questions about mobile apps

Do you build separate apps for iOS and Android?

For most business apps we use React Native or Flutter, so one codebase produces both versions and every fix reaches both platforms at once. Where heavy graphics or special hardware are involved, platform-specific development is considered during scoping.

Will the app work with our existing website or ERP?

Yes, through an API. If we built your website and admin screens, the app uses the same back end. For a third-party ERP or accounting system, we build an integration layer between the two.

Who publishes the app in the stores?

Apple and Google developer accounts are opened in your name, and their fees are paid to the stores. We prepare the listings, handle the submissions and respond to review feedback as part of the project.

Who owns the app and its data?

Kodem develops your software, hosts it on servers in Türkiye and keeps it up to date. The source code stays with Kodem. Your domain is registered in your name, and your content and data are always yours. The store accounts and your users' data are in your name in every case.

How do you handle user privacy?

Permission screens ask only for what the app needs, personal data is kept to a minimum, and users can request deletion. The rules of the data protection law that applies to your users are reviewed during scoping.

How long does it take, and what does it cost?

Both depend on the number of screens, offline needs, device features, integrations and the admin side. After discovery you receive an itemised quote in USD, fixed once approved, and a milestone schedule written into the contract.

What happens after the app is live?

We keep it running: operating system updates, store policy changes, security fixes and monitoring. Support scope and response times are written into the contract, and new features are quoted when you need them.

Tell us who will use it. We will help you decide.

Write who the users are, which devices they carry and whether they work offline. On a free video call we decide together: app, web app or mobile site.
